Churches and Camps are often seen as competing organizations, competing for the same resources, striving to engage the same donors and duplicating ministry. Churches and Camps are not in competition with each other. Both have an important role to play in leading people to faith and helping their relationship with Christ to grow. Churches and camps are unique parts of the family of God. When churches and camps work together in harmony our ministry effectiveness grows.

We will share the thought process behind leaders' decisions to react to the ever-changing war situation, whether to stay or flee. We will examine the renewal of staff teams and the adaptation of camps and discuss the impact of war on campers and camp programs, mental health concerns, and the overarching need to focus on Jesus. We will also explore the importance of strategic prayer and of the "one step at a time" approach for camps and organizations, including CCI Ukraine, to navigate through times of uncertainty. We hope you will gain valuable insights into the impact of war on Christian camps and how these lessons could have impacts in your camps. We will share how God works in the midst of it all.

Transforming Culture - Engaging Faithfully with the Issues of the Day

The world around us is rapidly changing. Culture is increasingly hostile to Christian values and in particular, Western cultural values are spreading worldwide through increasing connectivity. How do we remain faithful to Christ as the culture around us pushes back under the guise of inclusivity and love? This workshop will look at how Muskoka Bible Centre thoughtfully engaged with over 1500 participants in the summer of 2022 to teach and model faithfulness in a broken generation. As a bonus, we'll talk about how we turned our discussions into a podcast to create "evergreen" content for distribution.

Using values alongside experiential learning is the most effective learning technique I have seen in over 30 years of education experience. It can modify behaviour and integrate new thought patterns in a short amount of time due to the depth of intervention that values based debriefing can offer.

Whether you are developing yourself, emerging leaders or the next class of campers, Using Christ-like Values allows you to share the gospel in practical ways, especially in an environment where saying the name of Jesus is frowned upon or illegal. This just might be the tool that we all need to master to allow faith based growth in every camper whether they know Jesus personally yet or not.

Organisational mission drift is pervasive: If you do nothing, it will happen! In this workshop participants will explore the sources of mission drift and learn strategies for how to protect against them. Approaching the topic from an overt faith perspective, you will consider your own ministry context. You will have an opportunity to identify and discuss areas of potential vulnerability and we will collaborate on ways to stay on mission.
